Interview with Frances Moran of Dulann

Describe your business

Frances Moran, Franchisee of Dulann Wexford since January of 2020. At Dulann we transform the way companies manage their Health and Safety.  Helping them become more compliant, reducing costs by digitising the processes including pre qualification, permitting, assessments, inspections and reporting.

Our easy to use Learning Management System helps to manage, track and trace the learning process and get the most out of  a company’s training and development by encouraging employee engagement.
Personalisation of content improves knowledge retention and memory recall. It creates that all important emotional connection as well as integrating a company’s brand, and providing very specific training in areas such as Contractor Induction and Employee Onboarding.

As a Franchisee, I have access to the very best products and services Dulann Ireland has to offer.

Why did you decide to buy a Franchise

Having worked in hospitality for many years, the lure of a work life balance was very attractive. The passion and vision that Dulann presented from the get- go was infectious. I felt my self motivation and passion to succeed was enough for me to decide to take the “leap of faith” from employee to self employed. “If it is meant to be then it is up to me “and all that. !!

What makes you different?

I take pride in assisting companies achieve superior levels of compliance in a cost effective and efficient manner using world class digital management systems. I have been known to be guilty of hand holding companies through the transformation.  Customer success would be high up on my list. Something I would never compromise on.

What are your goals moving forward?

To build on my success to date. Continually getting to know and understand  companies’ pain points when it comes to Health and Safety management.

What has been your greatest achievement in business so far?

Hands down… to have made the huge decision to go from employee to self employed in January of 2020 and to be still in business nearly two years after having survived a global pandemic and all the unknown’s that came with it.  But , most importantly to have on-boarded some top class clients on route.

What advice would you give yourself if you could go back to the start? What, if anything, would you do differently?

Don’t sweat the small stuff. Believe in your capabilities, lean in 100% and success will follow. Pinpoint what parts of the business drain your time and try to farm out or create more efficient processes. Good time and calendar management is key. Master this early on. I have realised in business, there will always be another mountain. It is part of the journey. Just keep pushing on.
